AGM 2008

The AGM took place on Thursday 6th March in Dublin City Public Library & Archive, Pearse Street. There was an attendance of 43 members to review the past year’s activities, and also to debate a large number of motions. The Genealogy and Local Studies (GENLOC) Group, in association with the National Library of Ireland and South Dublin County Libraries, presents a daylong session on newspapers on Friday 7th March 2008. To celebrate Library Ireland Week, this event is free of charge and open to all. Places are limited so booking is essential. Library Ireland Week is the annual celebration promoting Libraries and Librarians organised by the Library Association of Ireland.  One of the major themes of this year’s celebration is to focus on the many different kinds of libraries there are in Ireland and to show how diverse our work can be.

As part of this celebration, the Library & Research Service in the Houses of the Oireachtas, would like to invite you to a presentation and coffee morning in Leinster House at 10.00am on Tuesday, 4 March 2008.

At 11.15am, following the presentation and coffee, there will be an optional tour of Leinster House.  (Tour will take 40-60 minutes).
