Library Ireland Week - 16th to 22nd November 2015

Monday, 16 November 2015 (All day) to Sunday, 22 November 2015 (All day)

Theme: A Library Holds a World of Ideas

The theme of this year’s Library Ireland Week is that of libraries and books

being a portal into a world of ideas and opportunities:

a world of imagination and creativity, of study and travel,

of new opportunities in all areas of life.

It is an opportunity for all of us as librarians and information professionals to
highlight the role of libraries as an invaluable and positive source for change

and expansion in the lives of individuals and communities.

Promotion of the services now includes downloadable posters
and a vibrant social media campaign. We are also receiving media coverage

under the RTÉ Support the Arts scheme.

However to make the week successful, we need YOU to organise and
to promote a wide-ranging event programme around books, reading,  writers,

and so on, in order to showcase the many services that are delivered by

Irish libraries and information service professionals.

All you need to do is upload your events to

As with last year, we are also asking you to provide snippets of information expressed

in one line of text to showcase the depth and variety of services offered by Irish libraries
and information services, e.g. ‘did you know that you can join your local library for free?’
All great content welcome, so please send it on to

Final request - if you are on Facebook/Twitter - why not
like+share/follow the #liw15 campaign.
