The 2010 annual conference of the Public Libraries’ Section will take place in The Maryborough Hotel Cork from 3rd to 5th November.

As public libraries take on the challenges of providing quality services with less money and fewer resources, it is more important than ever that we share experiences and discover more effective ways of serving the public.

We’re still adding to the line-up, but so far we have:

  • Bobby Kerr of the Dragons’ Den
  • Irene Gowing, Sponsorship Manager with Bord Gáis Energy
  • Bert Wright, Administrator of the Irish Book Awards, Curator of the Mountains to the Sea festival
  • A session from Simply Zesty – Ireland’s leading social media PR and marketing company. Clients include Vodafone, Nokia, Universal Pictures, Cully & Sully…
  • A session on NALA’s Write-on-4-Now, targeting people who need to improve their basic education
