IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2020
You will be aware that Dublin with host the IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) 2020 from the 15 – 21 August.
This is an exciting, once-in-a-career opportunity, to show the world the best of libraries and librarianship in Ireland and to network with colleagues from all over the world. The WLIC is typically attended by more than 3,500 delegates from over 130 countries. With 240 sessions and more than 220 papers from across all library sectors, the WLIC is a unique staff development prospect. It is important that Ireland, as the host country, is well represented and that Irish librarians can maximise this occasion. In this context we at the Library Association of Ireland (LAI) want to make it as easy as possible for you, and your staff, to attend the WLIC. With this in mind we have devised an advantageous membership offer which will enable your library authority to participate while at the same time saving money:
Membership offer – 20% discount (and save on WLIC registration)
Members, including institutional members, of the LAI can register for WLIC 2020 at significantly preferential rates (27%). For further savings if you join/renew your LAI membership in 2020 you will receive a 20% discount on your membership in 2021. Furthermore, institutional members will be able to nominate two members of staff (rather than just one) to avail of reduced rates at the many LAI events and conferences with the potential for further savings. Institutional membership is €350 which with these savings, and the other benefits of being a named supporter of the professional association for libraries and librarianship in Ireland, represents excellent value for money. In order to avail of the preferential registration rate, please email ifladublin2020@gmail.com to receive the LAI membership number.
