
We are excited to announce details of our upcoming May Conference Fun-damentals of the School Library: The Power of Play that will take place on Thursday 15th May in Trinity Comprehensive School Ballymun.
Our guest speaker is accredited Psychotherapist Dr Joanna Fortune. Author of five books, Joanna hosts the 15-Minute Parenting podcast, has a weekly parenting column in the Irish Examiner, has acted as the parenting consultant on the weekly parenting slot on Newstalk’s Moncrieff for over 7 years and is a regular contributor to a variety of radio and TV shows. She is a TEDx Talk speaker and a recognised supervisor, trainer and conference speaker in her field.
Next up is a team building workshop Are we on the cusp of a play renaissance in education? with husband and wife team Dr Jane Hession and Ronan Healy who are co-founders of How might We and hosts of the SEEKING PLAY podcast. As advocates of LEGO® Serious Play®, Jane and Ronan believe there is a wealth of untapped creative potential and play can be a powerful way to access it.
After Lunch JCSP Librarians Shane Doyle of Mount Seskin CC and Neil Kettles of Beaufort College will give short presentations on learning through play in the Library with Q & A and open discussion to follow. The conference will close with the LAI SLG members AGM.
