Have you seen a library job advertisement lately and not known exactly what that job entailed? Found you were none-the-wiser having read the job description? Have you wondered could I do that job? Do I have any transferable skills? These are some things we at the CDG hear frequently – so now we bring you “Emerging Careers: what ‘that’ job really entails” where you’ll meet three librarians who’ll talk about their jobs, and what the day-to-day work actually looks like for them. Meet a Data Manager, a Scholarly Communications Librarian and an Outreach and Engagement Librarian to see if any of their lines of work sound like something that suits you!
Our speakers will be Aoife Coffey (UCC), Aoife Quinn-Hegarty (UCD), and Eilís O’Neill (DCU). This event will take place via Zoom.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will follow this event, commencing at 8pm where we’ll elect our incoming officers and committee members for 2024!
We are looking for new committee members. You can propose and second candidates the using our nomination form.
Nominees must be current members of the LAI and of the LAI Career Development Group, proposers and seconders must be current members of the LAI.
